Senior Specialist in Geriatrics & Gerontology, Founder of Optimal Health,& Coordinator of the Department of Biological & Neuronal Regeneration Programs at Oxxygene Clinics
I am Dr. Adrian Stănescu, a senior specialist in geriatrics and gerontology, founder of Optimal Health, and coordinator of the Department of Biological and Neuronal Regeneration Programs at Oxxygene Clinics, with over 20 years of experience at the world’s first Institute of Gerontology – the National Institute of Gerontology and Geriatrics “Ana Aslan”, the birthplace of modern longevity.
Sixteen years ago, I founded the first private hospital for geriatrics and gerontology in Romania – Oxxygene Hospital – driven by a deep conviction that the elderly in our country deserve more than just survival care. They deserve care that regenerates, restores meaning, clarity, and hope.
My journey began in the early 2000s, when I took part in establishing Romania’s first Alzheimer’s Unit, within Geriatrics Department I of the Ana Aslan Institute. Even then, I witnessed the severe lack of solutions for patients in the later stages of the disease.
That’s when the need arose: to build not just a hospital, but a system – a network that provides real solutions in prevention, treatment, and regeneration.
Over the years, I pursued postgraduate studies at Apollo Health Institute in the United States and introduced to Romania the RECODE program – an innovative approach for early prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. I also serve as the Romanian coordinator for the Neuroreader program, in collaboration with Brainreader Denmark, enabling exclusive computerized cortical volumetry – a groundbreaking method for early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
In addition, I hold advanced certifications in Oxygen-Ozone Therapy and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), with specialization obtained through the Neuroscience Department at Maastricht University, completed in London in 2019.
I am the author of two medical books:
• “All About Alzheimer’s” (2015), and
• “Let’s Live Long and Well” (2018), a book on internal anti-aging, centered around the concept of the 3 M’s: moderation, motivation, and meditation – key principles that guide the Optimal Health philosophy, regardless of age.
I wrote these books to raise public awareness that old age is not an unavoidable fate. It is a state we can influence. That’s why, in 2021, I launched the project “Antiaging Revival by Oxxygene”, expanding longevity medicine into MOA and Oxxygene clinics in Bucharest.
Today, together with my team, we work on activating the code of youth – a set of medical protocols that combine neuroregeneration, detoxification, cellular regeneration, and metabolic optimization therapies. We use cutting-edge technologies alongside human, empathetic, patient-centered approaches.
We live in a time when medicine no longer treats only disease – it treats the future. At Oxxygene and MOA Clinics, we are writing a new chapter in the story of longevity every day. A chapter in which aging becomes a choice, not a sentence. Vitality, clarity, and the desire to live can be rekindled – regardless of age.
In my vision, the medicine of the future is personalized, predictive, preventive, and participatory. The patient must become an active partner in their own healing and regeneration process. There is no magic pill – but there is a comprehensive system of interventions – biological, cognitive, and epigenetic – that can extend active life by decades.
I truly believe that aging is, to a large extent, a biological choice. And today’s medicine already has the tools to significantly delay this process – if we start early and wisely. There can be no true youthfulness without deep care of the brain, liver, and gut. Longevity requires coherence.
I am honored to practice in the country that established the world’s first Institute of Gerontology. The Ana Aslan brand is one of Romania’s most powerful national brands. When I founded the Oxxygene Hospital, my primary goal was to innovate – to walk in Prof. Ana Aslan’s footsteps, and to bring this complex field of medicine into the present day, together with my dedicated team.
Affiliations: • President of Gerontologica Association (since 2006)
• Member of:
- Romanian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics
- Romanian Society of Oxygen-Ozone Therapy
- Romanian Alzheimer Society
- European Brainstimulation Academy
In over 25 years of medical practice, I have treated over 5,000 patients with dementia syndromes, evaluated and managed more than 10,000 cases of mild cognitive impairment, alongside thousands of internal antiaging consultations.
I have attended numerous international courses and congresses and have been an annual lecturer and chairman at the National Congresses of Geriatrics and Gerontology and the National Alzheimer Conference with international participation.
Distinctions:
• Silver Jubilee Medal of the Romanian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics – “50 Years Since the Founding of the Ana Aslan Institute” (2002)
• Merit Diploma from the National Institute of Gerontology and Geriatrics Ana Aslan – for outstanding contributions to Romanian geriatrics and gerontology (2002)
• Honor Medal – “125 Years Since the Birth of Acad. Prof. Dr. Ana Aslan” – for contributions to Romanian geriatrics (2023)
• Award for Creating Living Environments Dedicated to the Elderly, granted to Oxxygene Hospital at the first edition of the “Ana Aslan Gala” organized by the Ana Aslan Foundation (October 2024)
I strongly believe that in the coming years, the World Health Organization will recognize aging as a disease.
Imagine slowing down your aging process and feeling full of energy, no matter your age. Aging is no longer an inevitable process without solutions. At Oxxygene Clinics, modern medicine transforms this natural phenomenon into an opportunity to improve quality of life, making aging a personal choice. The standards of regenerative medicine are rewritten every day through our success stories.
Health, vitality, and the will to live a long, active life are now within reach for every patient who walks through our doors.
I am Dr. Adrian Stănescu. And my mission is not just to add years to my patients’ lives – but life to their years.
